Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has vowed to take revenge for the death of his father and predecessor Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He claims avenging his father is “the demand of the nation” and it “must certainly” take place. Former supreme leader of Iran Ayatollah Khamenei was killed by an air strike launched by Israel and the US in February, triggering the start of the war in Iran. Mojtaba Khamenei was not present at the funeral of his predecessor and has not been seen since he was appointed as the new Supreme Leader in March. He is believed to have been injured in the same US attack that killed his father earlier this year.
