Just days after the sudden death of Senator Lindsey Graham, South Carolina has a new voice in the U.S. Senate, and it's someone who knew him better than anyone else. Governor Henry McMaster has appointed Graham's sister, Darline Graham Nordone, to temporarily fill his Senate seat, making history as the first woman ever to represent South Carolina in the U.S. Senate.Nordone will serve the remainder of her brother's current Senate term, which expires in January, before voters elect a permanent successor.She is expected to be sworn into office on Wednesday and will become the first woman in South Carolina history to serve in the U.S. Senate.The announcement came during an emotional news conference.
