Community leaders are continuing to demand an independent investigation into a deadly shooting by an ICE agent.Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare and Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis announced that they will conduct an investigation into the fatal shooting of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo at a press conference on Monday. But Teare said that while he will work to find out what happened in the death of Salgado Araujo, he is limited in the evidence that he is allowed to get as federal investigators will be conducting its own investigation. “We’re running this investigation so that we can be transparent so all of Houston, Texas, the U.S. that if someone needs to be held accountable, we can do that,” Teare said. The independent investigation by the DA’s office will run into tough waters, especially since the ICE agents did not wear body cameras and there is not yet any video that has been released that shows the actual shooting or the incident that led to it. #ICE, #HoustonShootin
