Hancock Energy Executive Director Ian Plimer accuses the government of abandoning Australian farmers by backing foreign carbon projects, questioning whose interests are really being served. “These are international treaties which allow people to put carbon into the ground in other jurisdictions,” Mr Plimer told Sky News host Rita Panahi. “This is the Australian government letting down farmers, letting down farmers really badly, supporting foreign countries who are just pillaging this country. “I just wonder how many brown paper bags change hands because this is not economic, it's not in the wealth of the country, it's not for the good of the farmers.”
