Sky News host Rita Panahi questions the approval of a foreign purchase of Tasmania's largest farm, warning productive farmland is being sacrificed for carbon offset projects. “The government has also been accused of betraying farmers after approving a foreign purchase of Tasmania's largest farm for a tree-growing carbon scheme,” Ms Panahi said. “Jim Chalmers last week approved the purchase of the Rushy Lagoon farm, which stretches 22,000 hectares. “Peak farm bodies and locals said it would deliver a "major blow" to food security and the local supply chain.”
