After a series of unexplained electrical problems leads him into the basement of his showroom, Clark discovers a strange opening in the wall that should not exist. Beyond that doorway is an enormous labyrinth of yellow wallpaper, fluorescent lights, empty hallways, impossible architecture, and rooms that seem to continue forever. Clark initially believes the discovery could finally give his life meaning, but the deeper he explores, the more the Backrooms begin reflecting pieces of his store, his memories, and the parts of himself he would rather avoid.
