Supreme Court Justices Elena Kagan and Amy Coney Barrett arrived on Capitol Hill Tuesday morning to testify before a House Appropriations subcommittee on the high court's fiscal year 2027 budget request. It's the first time since 2019 that Supreme Court justices have testified before Congress on the court's annual budget. The court is seeking $200 million for salaries and expenses, about a 7% increase over current funding levels.
