Reform UK’s Robert Jenrick has said that MPs for the party want "to be able to go home to their family at the end of the day safely” following the investigation into the death of prominent party member Ann Widdecombe. Speaking to Radio 4’s Today, Jenrick said he wants to see leader Nigel Farage and his family being “given the security they deserve”. His comments came after it emerged Reform UK had rejected an offer for state-funded security for Farage last year, on the grounds it was a “downgraded and inadequate package”. Following the death of Widdecombe, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood invited Farage to meet with the chair of the group of officials who oversee MPs' security, the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec).
