The Australian’s Chief International Correspondent Cameron Stewart says America’s 24-hour turnaround to ditch the proposal to introduce a shipping toll through the Strait of Hormuz is “incredible even by Trump’s standards”. “I think that plan from Donald Trump was never going to fly,” Mr Stewart told Sky News Australia. “The idea of putting a levy, a US levy, on ships going through the Strait of Hormuz would have actually added to the price of oil around the world and added to inflation.” “So that was never going to fly.”
