Sky News host Jaimee Rogers sounds the alarm over soaring business insolvencies, arguing Labor has failed Australia's small business sector as more than 47,000 companies have gone under since 2022. “The backbone of Australia's economy is breaking. Small businesses are closing their doors at an alarming rate. Last financial year, more than 14,000 went under,” Ms Rogers said. “Since Labor came to office in 2022, insolvencies have soared by 200 per cent, with more than 47,000 businesses going under. “At a time when businesses are closing at a rate of almost 30 a day, Australians have every right to ask: Who is better equipped to understand what it takes to build a business, create jobs, and grow the economy? “Businesses need a government that understands what it's like to sign the front of a pay cheque, not just the back of one, because if small business fails, Australia fails.”
