President Trump criticized Spain for the migrant crisis in Ceuta during his Cabinet meeting on Friday and warned the U.S. could face a similar fate if Democrats win the midterm elections. “I saw Spain yesterday, and I watched the catastrophe that took place. It looks like an invasion of a country,” he said. "...and that same thing’s going to happen to us if the Republicans don’t get elected, except worse, much bigger, much easier to get into.” Around 60,000 migrants have crossed from Morocco into the Spanish territory of Ceuta since Thursday, causing a humanitarian and security emergency that resulted in over 40 deaths. President Trump blamed Spain, calling it "weak law, bad management, but very liberal law." He continued that the incident is a "talking point" for the U.S. midterm elections.
