Evacuation order for BC’s Loon Lake extends to nearly 1,500 properties due to Pear Lake fire

Hundreds more B.C. residents are under an evacuation order in the South Cariboo region as the Pear Lake fire continues to grow. The Thompson-Nicola Regional District expanded the evacuation order on Friday morning for the Loon Lake and South Green Lake area, adding approximately 375 properties to the 1,119 already on evacuation order. The Pear Lake fire is now estimated at 73,217.11 hectares. Taya Fast reports on the efforts to contain the fast-growing fire.
