At least nine people have died following the latest strikes on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv. Only one out of 27 Russian missiles was intercepted, highlighting concerns previously raised by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about dwindling supplies for Ukraine’s US-made Patriot air defence system. Kyiv has requested a license from Washington to manufacture the system domestically, but US President Donald Trump has expressed reservations about sharing advanced American technology.
