When it comes to supernatural creature features, nobody comes close to the holy trinity of vampires, werewolves, and zombies, in my opinion. Rooted in Haitian voodoo traditions, the depiction and understanding of Zombies have greatly evolved over the years, particularly thanks to Hollywood… which has been making zombie films from all the way back in 1932… with movies like White Zombie. From their origins being deeply rooted in the supernatural to pathogens and plasmodial slime molds now, things sure have come a long way for these shambling undead monsters. Director Yeon Sang-ho, best known for the acclaimed zombie thriller Train to Busan, which was not only one of the finest zombie films in recent memory but also a movie that firmly put Korea on the global map as a powerhouse capable of delivering Hollywood-level genre cinema, has now returned to the field with another entry in the genre called The Colony. #ColonyMovie #Colony2026 #YeonSangHo #koreanhorror
