President Trump said Monday that oil companies like Chevron and ExxonMobil have made "too much money," on the high oil prices amid the U.S. — Iran war. "I don't like it," the president told reporters at the Oval Office. "Based on a shortage, they're making too much money." Chevron recently announced a record quarterly profit of $12.1 billion, while ExxonMobil reported $14.5 billion in earnings, roughly double what it reported during the same last-year period. "Chevron, too much money. ExxonMobil, too much, too much money," he said. Meanwhile, disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz have pushed U.S. gasoline prices to average around $4, compared to nearly $3, prior to the war in Iran. The president called for the companies to pay the American people back, saying, "they ought to give some of that back to the public and they better cut the retail price. #oil #gasoline #straitofhormuz #iranwar #chevron #exxon #trump #cspan
