Shadow Treasurer Tim Wilson claims Labor's housing policies have trapped Australians in negative equity, leaving families paying off debt as property values plunge. “They actively stoked young Australians to take out more debt perhaps than they could afford, or certainly than they’d saved for themselves,” Mr Wilson told News24 host Sharri Markson. “Now they’re finding themselves in negative equity and hostage to their property. “They’re now living to service a bank. “Australians are just left with the wreckage.”
