The Australian Columnist Tom Switzer says Defence Minister Pat Conroy triggered a major diplomatic headache after claiming US submarines would stop rotating through Australia. “Greg Sheridan, our colleague, wrote a very good column ... just absolutely beside himself about how incoherent and incompetent the Labor government has been on this subject,” Mr Switzer told News24 host Chris Kenny. “He is wrong. “Richard Marles came through to mop up the damage and reaffirm what the line is. “He [Anthony Albanese] and some of his ministers have been completely incoherent about what AUKUS means and how long it’s going to last.”
