The largest cyclospora outbreak ever recorded in the United States has turned deadly. Health officials have confirmed the first two known deaths in Michigan. It comes as health experts warn regulatory rollbacks may have helped fuel the parasitic infection's rapid spread. "Unfortunately, when you have that many people with infectious diarrhea, there's going to be a cohort of those people with medical conditions who are going to succumb to the dehydration taxing their system, making it very difficult for them to survive," Gerontologist at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, Dr. Rabia De Latour said.
