Russia fired dozens of ballistic missiles at Ukraine's capital Kyiv and the surrounding region early Wednesday morning, killing at least 17 people and destroying warehouses and logistics centres of major retailers, Ukrainian officials said. The attacks are part of a series of large-scale strikes exploiting Ukraine’s shortage of interceptor missiles. “They (Russia) don't want to stop, and I think that they want to continue and increase escalation using the ballistic missiles. And we have our estimation, I want to share with you, we have an estimation that they will increase the production of such ballistic missiles," Zelenskyy said. Since the beginning of 2026, Ukraine has received a third of the anti-ballistic air defence missiles compared to 2025.
