Two episodes into its fourth season, Strange New Worlds did something the franchise had tiptoed around for nearly sixty years- it put James T. Kirk’s fatherhood on screen. And we don’t get a blink-and-miss moment like in season 2, but his fatherhood was actually a focus for him in that episode. So, spoilers below for last week’s episode! In “The Griffin Incident”, aired on the 30th of July, so last Thursday, a younger Kirk talks openly about his infant son David and his split from Carol Marcus.
