Toronto Police Service provided an update Thursday at 11 a.m. ET, on the investigation into a shooting at the U.S. Consulate in Toronto. Chief of Police Myron Demkiw was joined by Chief Supt. of Detective Operations Joe Matthews to make the announcement and offer further insight into the investigation. The firearm discharge occurred in the early hours of July 27, with an officer hearing the gunshot ring out around 4:46 a.m. ET, near the consulate at 360 University Ave. Police have released images of a white late-model Honda Accord, which was seen speeding away from the building. Two security personnel were inside the consulate at the time, but no injuries were reported.
