Season 2’s penultimate episode Dead Man’s Hand, has left fans divided into two factions. While I too believe that Apocalypse should not have been made to look like a monkey corpse behind the scenes, there were plenty of nice things about the eighth episode, including the showcase of just how brutal the god-abiding Nightcrawler can become once he is stripped of his morality and ethical boundaries. But of course, the episode also set up quite a few things for a super-charged finale, with Apocalypse getting somewhat trapped inside Gambit’s psyche, X-Factor and X-Force joining hands to kill Gambit, and X-Men reunited after spending most of the season separated.
