FDD Iran Program Senior Director Benham Taleblu says Tehran has a “clear strategy” to make US President Donald Trump’s administration pay a “political and economic cost” for the 40-day war. “That’s precisely why we’re seeing Tehran revert to a tried and true strategy we’ve seen from them for well over a decade, particularly a strategy during nuclear talks,” Mr Taleblu told News24. “Which is just when you think there is light at the end of the tunnel, just when you think there’s agreement, the regime introduces new parameters and seeks new concessions and tries to drag out talks beyond those preset parameters.”
