Melbourne Lod Mayor Nick Reece backs allowing international students to study trades alongside their broader education, arguing the model could deliver benefits if proper safeguards are in place. “It’s more about people coming in as students and maybe studying a trade as part of being a student here,” Mr Reece told News24 host Paul Murray. “As long as you’ve got the right guardrails here, I can see some benefits.”
