The Bald Range wildfire in British Columbia continues to burn out-of-control near Summerland with residents on evacuation order. Authorities have announced the first death connected to the blaze during the mass evacuation effort over the weekend. RCMP say an 80-year-old woman from Meadow Valley — located west of Summerland — was attempting to leave her home on Friday night with a family member when she suddenly died. The coroner is working to determine the exact cause of her death, but police believe it’s a direct result from the wildfire. As Victoria Femia reports, about 20,000 evacuees from Summerland and surrounding communities are entering day three of not being able to return home without a timeline in sight.
