‘Leave it the way it is’: Businesses to decide on English or foreign use of signs

Radio 2CC Host Stephen Cenatiempo says local businesses should decide what signs go up and in what language if they know how to “attract customers”. “I don’t support anything that most local councils do because they generally overstep the mark,” Mr Cenatiempo told News24 host Chris Kenny. “Who are you concerned about? If businesses think that they are going to be able to attract customers by having foreign signs, then good luck to them. “It should be up to the individual business owner to determine what’s on his sign and what’s going to serve his business.”
