The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has been called in to investigate an “active-shooter” incident that resulted in a Calgary police officer being shot following a traffic stop in the southwest community of Spruce Cliff, near Edworthy Park on Monday. A passerby, Karen Hrncirik, who was on foot at the time of the unfolding situation spoke to Global News shortly and said it was “very scary to be right in the middle of it.” “I was going to go into the woods and the helicopter started kind of going right over me, like just basically circling me and I was like, ‘OK , I have this feeling they’re telling me not to go in the woods,'” said Hrncirik.
