Nationals Leader Matt Canavan says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese needs to “clean this mess up,” after making a sexist joke mocking Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s “melons”. “A public apology now. Simply after some pressure on him to do so might not look heartfelt and look a bit insincere,” Mr Canavan told News24 host Andrew Bolt. “If there's not time in the prime minister’s diary to travel to Japan, a simple phone call could easily be arranged.”
