RoboCop 2 did not get the love it deserved. Nearly everyone involved in the project had reservations about it. The writers of the first film, Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner, were fired from the project after the length of the Writers Guild of America strike resulted in a breach of contract. So comic writer Frank Miller, who was known for writing gritty stories, was hired to write the script. Miller’s script was considered “unfilmable” by the studio executives, who hired Walon Green to rewrite it. Even then, director Irvin Kershner found the script deplorable. Actor Michael Medeiros even remembers Kershner tossing away pages of the script as he read them. Peter Weller did not like the script either, and he was not even sure the film would be a hit, but in spite of it all, RoboCop 2 was a moderate success and I, personally, like that film. While I was rewatching it, I realized the one thing that makes the movie so fun - the villain Cain. #RoboCop2 #RoboCain #Cain #cyberneticshark
