Michelle Rempel Garner, Conservative MP for Calgary Nose Hill, spoke in Ottawa Tuesday about what she called the “insane and disgusting" lenient sentences being given to non-citizens committing violent crimes in Canada. Garner claimed the “two-tier justice system” left criminal Canadians with harsher sentences than non-citizens, even when committing the same crimes.
