The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a controversial plan Monday to implement the use of electric shock gloves during immigrations and customs enforcement arrests. According to the notice for contracts on the DHS website, the department is set to spend up to $20 million on CTG-5 G.L.O.V.E. – an acronym that stands for generated low output voltage emitter. As Global’s Candice Cole reports, ICE officers are already facing mounting scrutiny over abuse of force tactics that include the shooting deaths of two American citizens earlier this year and the American Civil Liberties Union of New York is calling the use of shock gloves a “recipe for disaster.” For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Follow Global News on X HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on TikTok HERE: https://www.tiktok.com/@globalnews.ca?lang=en #GlobalNews
