News24 Contributor Emily Carver discusses Reform UK Leader Nigel Farage’s win in Clacton, successfully fending off Count Binface in what was a bizarre by-election. “He didn’t turn up to the declaration in Clacton; he’s the first MP to not do so since 1981 … this is a tad unprecedented in a way,” Ms Carver told News24 host Caleb Bond. “He says he was advised by Essex Police that there was some kind of organised campaign to disrupt and degrade the result. “Essex Police have sort of come out and said actually we had lots of security there, you know, we were going to look after this event. “Did Nigel Farage not want to be there because it would have been a little bit embarrassing?”
