Major Projects Editor from the Herald Sun Matt Johnston says both the Nationals and One Nation are keen to get into Bendigo after news of former premier Jacinta Allan’s resignation. “This was no surprise to anyone,” Mr Johnston told News24 host Caleb Bond. “The Nationals and One Nation are having a real crack and are pretty excited about getting into Bendigo East. “I think Andrew Lethlean is a very popular local person; he runs a pub … he would see himself as sort of a frontrunner now. “I think some people underestimate her local popularity in some corners of Bendigo; I think it's still relatively strong.”
