The ABC has issued a statement admitting a mistake over broadcasting criticism of Gina Rinehart. The billionaire business owner recently received an apology from the broadcaster, but this was a new complaint. It was in relation to an interview with Hera Sheppard, a Victorian Socialists candidate for November's state election. While discussing One Nation's polling popularity, Ms Sheppard claimed Ms Rinehart wanted Australians to work for just “$2 a day”. Ms Rinehart's complaint to the ABC said the interviewee had deliberately misrepresented comments from 2012. An on-air correction has been issued.
