The family of missing 14-year-old Klaira Sophia Peters has turned to a private investigator after raising nearly $20,000 on GoFundMe in less than 24 hours. “We’re just concerned that she’s in an exploitative situation. She’s a child, like she’s barely 14 — she just turned 14. She’s a baby,” Klaira’s cousin, Faith Nichol tells Global News. Klaira’s family says they’ve pushed for an Amber Alert and have repeatedly asked why one has not been issued. Klaira was last seen at the Kingston YMCA last Saturday, where she stopped by the pool for a swim. Police say she was last seen around 1 p.m. at Wright Crescent. Global’s Jesse Reynolds reports.
