Questions are circulating following the sudden removal this week of the RCMP's commanding officer for B.C., Dwayne McDonald. A statement issued by RCMP Commissioner Mike Duheme said the removal follows recent allegations that date back to 2016-2018 and that investigations are underway. "He is such a senior person that I think the RCMP owes the public an explanation. Not next week or next month or next year,” University of Manitoba Ethics professor Arthur Schafer said. British Columbia Premier David Eby also commented on the removal on Friday, saying he thinks “that ultimately the public deserves to know why the head RCMP officer in British Columbia was removed, but I also know that it is crucial both for anyone who's bringing forward allegations, as well as for Mr. McDonald, that that's done properly." As Catherine Urquhart reports, many say the public should have more information about why Dwayne McDonald has been removed for now. For more info, please go to https://globalnews.
