News24 host Jaimee Rogers discusses growing concerns over Australia's relationship with Japan, with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s melon joke raising questions about the government's approach to a key investment and trading partner. “What started as a story about an inappropriate podcast appearance is exposing something far more serious. The Prime Minister's recklessness is putting this all-important bilateral relationship on the line,” Ms Rogers said. “Australia has spent half a century building this relationship. But partnerships like this cannot be taken for granted. “Japan will have decisions to make. And Australia isn't the only country knocking on the door. Canada is coming for that business. The United States wants it too.”
