Tommy Tuberville told The Washington Post he talks to ChatGPT about Medicare and Medicaid on long drives, even while admitting he does not know whether the answers are fully correct. He is hardly alone, as congressional offices are reportedly using AI to write speeches, constituent mail, hearing questions, and even amendments while disclosure rules barely exist. At the same time, AI companies are flooding Washington with lobbying money, safety tests are raising alarms, and the people supposed to regulate the technology are increasingly relying on it to do their own work.
