At least eight people have died after a ferry capsized off the coast of Kyrenia, Cyprus on Sunday. Initially thought to be 20, 18 people are still missing and being actively searched for, Turkish Cypriot Prime Minister Unal Ustel said Monday. The double-hulled ferry had 267 passengers aboard when it took on water and eventually flipped and sank 514 metres (1,686 ft), settling on a deepwater seabed beyond where divers can reach. “We are going to reach the ship tomorrow [Tuesday] afternoon with two [ships] that can take divers down deep and we will see what is inside the ship,” Ustel told reporters.
