The Australian columnist Tom Switzer says One Nation’s triumph in the Secret Harbour by-election is "absolutely" a scare for Labor. “It shows that Australia is playing catch-up with what’s happened in the United States 10 years ago, but also what’s happening all across the European continent,” Mr Switzer told News24 host Chris Kenny. “If you look at France, Marine Le Pen, who’s all too often denounced as a far-right extremist…she and her party are tapping into legitimate anxieties in socialist strongholds in northern France.”
