Broadcaster Lucy Zelic condemns attempts to portray political parties as dangerous, divisive and toxic, warning Australia is beginning to see the same political tactics that played out during Donald Trump’s rise in the United States. “This kind of attempt to now destroy these political parties through painting them as though they are dangerous, divisive and toxic and a threat to democracy,” Ms Zelic told News24 host Paul Murray. “We saw all of this play out in the United States with President Trump, and now we are starting to see increments of it play out here in Australia. “It is very, very reckless and irresponsible to do this.”
