Several Ontario Progressive Conservative MPPs were charging taxpayers to stay in hotel rooms – even though they live within driving distance to Queen’s Park. Two MPP’s stood out on the list -- Hardeep Grewel, who spent $27,000 in hotel rooms, and Charmaine Williams, with $15,000 in charges. Both MPP’s, who live in Brampton, Ont., say the funds have been repaid, but the opposition wants to see proof. Global News has also learned that political parties have agreed to end the provision, meaning no more taxpayer-funded hotel stays for those who live close to Queen’s Park. Queen’s Park Bureau Chief Colin D’Mello has the story.
