House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) slammed Republicans on Thursday for the rising costs in the United States, ahead of the midterm elections. "Life has gotten far too expensive in this country and Republicans don't give a damn about it," Jeffries said at a news conference. "The Republican priorities — as evidenced by the 'one big ugly bill' — in the entire Congress has been focused on ripping healthcare away from the American people, enacting the largest cuts in nutritional assistance in American history," he continued. The minority leader's remarks come as polls and reports show affordability and the economy as a key issue for midterm voters this election year. #hakeemjeffries #affordability #midterms #cspan
