Who would have thought that we would finally get a lore-accurate and tonally faithful adaptation/reboot of Resident Evil in 2026? Spoiler Alert: I did. And it was mostly because of the attachment of ' Weapons’ and ‘Barbarian’ fame Zach Cregger with the project. Ever since Sony Pictures announced that their new Resident Evil film will be directed and co-written by the modern horror sensation Cregger, I was confirmed about one thing, it will be a guaranteed fun and exciting time at the movies. Fortunately, that feeling has exponentially grown as we get to see the promotional materials of the film. The trailers had the same immersive quality and glimpses of world-building that made the games an instant success among the fans. And now flash forward to earlier this week, when Sony Pictures organized a press screening for the first 30 minutes of the film… #ResidentEvil #ResidentEvilMovie #ResidentEvil2026 #zachcregger
