Animal Justice has filed a complaint with the BC SPCA over the killing of a grizzly bear known as Nell near Nelson, B.C. The group says a witness found the bear still alive and bleeding from a gunshot wound after conservation officers shot her on Aug. 13. The B.C. Conservation Officer Service says officers responded as trained and that it has full confidence in their actions. Animal advocates are also raising concerns about the lack of a publicly available provincial policy outlining standards for the humane killing of wildlife. Paul Johnson reports.
