Former New South Wales Police minister David Elliott warns high costs and red tape are undermining Australia’s cruise industry after it was already devastated by the COVID pandemic. “The tragedy is I can’t think of an industry that was so adversely affected by COVID as the cruising industry,” Mr Elliot told News24 host Jaimee Rogers. “We really did need to power it up, and we’re still powering it up. “This is what happens in Australia: we find a golden egg, and we screw it up. “We can’t turn our back on the cruising industry.”
