The Trump administration is considering a land exchange that could allow Kingsbarn Realty Capital to build a short road through Yosemite National Park to an 83-acre property it purchased for $4 million in 2024. Previous owners sought similar access for years and lost in federal court, but National Park Service officials are now again evaluating an exchange involving a roughly quarter-mile strip of parkland while Interior insists no final decision has been made. The proposal has drawn bipartisan opposition from California lawmakers and conservation groups concerned about the precedent of transferring national park land to facilitate private development.
