The Australian Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan warns Xi Jinping’s repeated purges of senior generals and refusal to establish a succession plan reveal an increasingly brittle one-man dictatorship driven by an uncompromising communist ideology. “These constant purges, the refusal to have any succession plan, this suggests a one-man dictatorship which is quite brittle and quite febrile internally,” Mr Sheridan told News24 host James Macpherson. “Xi Jinping proclaims himself a true-believing communist ideologue and frequently praises Stalin and Mao. “When a dictator tells you what he thinks and what he wants to do, we should take it seriously. “He wants to conquer the world.”
