Hello and welcome back, anime fans. Over the last twenty six years, anime has gained a LOt of popularity on a worldwide scale, and with this recognition, it has also gone through numerous visual and artistic changes, and I can surely say that at least three different art revolutions have happened too! First came Studio Ghibli's hand painted watercolor era. During this era, the animation was treated as fine art and was done frame by frame. Then Makoto Shinkai kicked off the photoreal background boom, which turned ordinary train platforms and cloudy skies into things many people cried over. And most recently, studios like Ufotable, Orange, and Mappa have sparked a digital compositing arms race that made weekly TV episodes look like feature films. Like seriously, it is like they do not even have a budget! The animation is just THAT good! #AnimeHistory #AnimeRetrospective #2000sAnime #2010sAnime #modernanime
