On July 6, 2022, a minor interstate traffic stop on I-40 in Arkansas turned into a massive drug trafficking case, captured entirely on Arkansas police dashcam footage during routine police activity. What started as a stop for traffic violations near the 109-mile marker quickly escalated when the trooper noticed nervous behavior and conflicting travel stories from the driver and passenger. A K9 police unit was requested to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle and U-Haul trailer. The K9 alerted on the trailer, and a subsequent vehcile search revealed 1,632 pounds of high-grade marijuana concealed inside.
